Denmark is a country known for its delicious baked goods. From sweet cinnamon swirls to succulent savoury slices, it’s no secret that Copenhagen produces some of the best bakeries in the world.

The problem for visitors to the Danish capital is that you’ll be spoilt for choice. Every street corner boasts a bakery, with sugar-soaked goodies glistening in the windows like precious jewels.

That’s why I’ve done the hard work for you (you’re welcome), by visiting as many bakeries as I could lay my hands on, and deciding which were in my top twelve.

Of course, this is a list of my personal faves, yours may well be different. But I hope it goes some way in helping you find that cardamon bun or sourdough loaf you never knew that you so desperately craved, without needing to try every one on offer!

8. Juno the Bakery

Juno was opened in 2017 by Emil Glaser, a former cook at Noma. They bring exquisite fresh cakes and pastries (I particularly recommend the cardemon buns and pistachio croissants) to a cosy cafe atmosphere.

As well as the conventional cafe approach, they bake fresh sourdough breads several times throughout the day, so you’ll be greeted by the fantastic aroma of delcious baking bread (Image credit: Google Maps).
